Meet Nana
Hello! I'm Linda Edwards
My name is Linda Edwards, I am the owner and founder of Nana’s Pet Sitting & Dog Walking. I am a pet parent, pet grandparent, and pet godmother. I have always lived in a multi-pet household and currently have two cats, Annie and Noah along with my Border Collie, Gracie and Yorkie, Ellis. I started Nana's Pet Sitting and Dog Walking in 2007 after moving from Macon, Georgia in 2006.
When Linda Became Nana
Before getting into the pet business I was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years and loved every minute of it.
I was also successful in the corporate world for many years but in 2006 I made the move to Charlotte. I moved, in a sense, to start my life over. My husband and love of my life suddenly passed away and I found myself looking for something that made me as happy as he did.
I woke up one morning to my beautiful border collie Sophie staring me in the face and it hit me - pets!
As a child, my father taught me to be kind to anything that breathed. I always took my children to museums, zoos, and to feed the ducks. After Katrina, I helped my grandchildren sell lemonade to raise money for homeless pets from the hurricane. I continue to work with local shelters and rescue groups through donations, classes, and sponsoring events.
I guess I can say that I rediscovered a great love that I had basically taken for granted. The fact is, animals bring me great peace, joy and happiness. I truly enjoy spending time with them and they bring me the joy that faded from my
life after my husband passed.
I could not imagine doing anything else with my life! I have four beautiful pets but well over 2,000 pet clients that I love and care for as if they were my own!
Dedicated to Pet Safety
Shortly after starting Nana's Pet Sitting & Dog Walking, I discovered PetTech, the first international training center dedicated to pet care, first aid, and CPR for cats and dogs. My assistant and I completed the eight-hour class and I was so impressed with the course content I knew immediately that all Nana's sitters and dog walkers needed to complete this training.
I also knew I wanted to be a part of the PetTech family, helping to promote pet wellness, pet first aid, CPR, and pet care to all pet parents and pet professionals. So, I quickly became an instructor and then shortly thereafter I became a Master Pet Tech Instructor and launched Nana's Pet First Aid & CPR.
There are hundreds of trained instructors in the country, but only eight Master Instructors. I underwent extensive training and had to gain years of experience before becoming a Master Instructor myself. I love teaching the class and I am proud that all Nana’s sitters and walkers are properly trained to safely walk and care for your pets.
Sitters and dog walkers keep their skill sets active and current through continuous education and renewing their PetTech training certificate every two years. We invite you to check out their current certificates in their bios!
Most recently, Nana has earned the COVID Certified Pet Sitter and the Disaster Plan Certified Pet Sitter certificate both earned through Pet Sitters International. Each certificate required the completion and passing of continuing education courses.
Continuing education is an important part of Nana's. We are always adding valuable designations and certifications to our portfolio of credentials to make us the very best and the safest pet sitting and dog walking service available to you in the greater Charlotte area!
A History of Amazing Service
Nana's Pet Sitting & Dog Walking has earned the esteemed Angie's List Super Service Award consistently since 2009. I am very proud of my business, my sitters, dog walkers, and am thankful for wonderful clients who have trusted us and continue to trust us with their homes and their pets.
We also have the highest rating available from the Better Business Bureau of Charlotte and that has also been consistent since 2007.
